DONATIONS TO MONTANA STATE GOVERNMENT

The State of Montana is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Any donation to the State is tax deductible.

Citizens may donate money for general state government operations or restrict it for a specific purpose.

Non-restricted donations will be deposited in the state general fund. The general fund is the primary state account that funds a majority of the general operations of state government.

Donations to the State of Montana's general fund can be sent to:

          State Treasurer

          Helena, MT 59620-0140.

Donations for specific governmental functions can be sent either to the State Treasurer with instructions on how the funds should be used, or to the specific agency for which the donation is intended.
