In addition, employers can electronically file the annual Montana withholding report (MW3) directly on the department’s website for free.
A “one-stop” website, MontanaFreeFile.org, offers taxpayers information on free electronic filing options and volunteer tax preparation sites for both federal and state income taxes. The website is sponsored by a partnership of government and non-profit entities—including the Montana Department of Revenue, Montana’s Credit Unions, Montana Legal Services Association, Rural Dynamics, Inc. and Opportunity Link. AARP Tax-Aide Montana is lending support to the project.
