SWH001 - Navigation/OverviewTop of page

This is a prerequisite for all other HR classes.

Description: This class is required before taking any other classes for all new employees and any users who did not attend the HR Upgrade Navigation Briefing or the HR Upgrade Overview class. This class is intended to provide users with insight into how the SABHRS HRMS system functions. The class will include a short history of SABHRS, a basic description of the architecture of the system, a look at available functionality, an overview of security. This class will cover navigation within the SABHRS Web environment, use of MINE, shortcuts, View Paycheck capabilities, and an overview of the SABHRS database (relational databases, keys, effective dating, actions).

Who should attend? This class is open to new employees, users who have had little or no training, and experienced users who want a "back-to-basics" refresher. The focus will be on the basic information that a new user will need.

How long is the class? 3.5 hours


SWH002 - Position Data Maintenance Top of page

Description: This class will cover maintaining the information required for full position management within SABHRS. This will include adding a newly approved position, making changes to an existing position as the result of a classification action or an agency re-organization.

Who should attend? This class is open to new employees, users who have had little or no training, and experienced users who want a "back-to-basics" refresher. The focus will be on the basic information that a new user will need.

Pre-requisites: The Navigation/Overview class (SWH001) or attendance at either the HR Upgrade Navigation Briefing or the HR Upgrade Overview class is a pre-requisite for new users.

How long is the class? 2 hours


SWH003 - New Hire Process Top of page

Description: An overview of all of the information required to hire an employee within SABHRS and insure (s)he gets paid correctly. This course will cover all pages within Personal Data, Job Data, Emergency Contacts, Time Reporter Data, General Deductions, Tax Data, and Direct Deposit components.

Who should attend? This class is open to new employees, users who have had little or no training, and experienced users who want a "back-to-basics" refresher. The focus will be on the basic information that a new user will need.

SWH004 - Employee Special Maintenance Top of page

Description: This course will cover many of the maintenance activities that may be associated with an employee record including transfer, additional job, termination, rehire, address change, name change, and an overview of the Cross Update process. We will discuss the special time entry needs for employees in these special circumstances.

Who should attend? This class is open to new employees, users who have had little or no training, and experienced users who want a "back-to-basics" refresher. The focus will be on the basic information that a new user will need.

SWH005 - Intro to Time & Labor Top of page

Description: This course will look at all the parts of the Time & Labor module and how they work. This will include a discussion of Workgroups and how they are used. We will also look at the relationship between Account Codes, Task Profiles, and Taskgroups. We will practice setting up Dynamic and Static groups, maintaining employees in Time & Labor, and both self-service and third party time entry.

Who should attend? This class is open to new employees, users who have had little or no training, and experienced users who want a "back-to-basics" refresher. The focus will be on the basic information that a new user will need.

Pre-requisites: The Navigation/Overview class (SWH001) or attendance at either the HR Upgrade Navigation Briefing or the HR Upgrade Overview class is a pre-requisite for new users.

SWH008 - Time & Labor/Payroll Processes Top of page

Description: Based on time entered in the Intro class, we will run Time Administration, identify and clear Exceptions, Approve Time, Load Payroll, and run preliminary Payroll Calc. We will review the reports that are generated throughout the processes. Students will enter and final expenses and travel advances and recoveries. We will run previous entries through Load Payroll, Payroll Calc, Confirm, Print, Leave Accrual. Expenses and time will be adjusted.

Who should attend? This class is open to new employees, users who have had little or no training, and experienced users who want a "back-to-basics" refresher. The focus will be on the basic information that a new user will need.

Pre-requisites: The Intro to Time & Labor class (SWH005) is a pre-requisite for all participants in this class regardless of experience.
