Online Filing For Individual Income Tax Returns

Montana participates in the federal/state electronic filing program, a cooperative effort between the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state revenue agencies. You can prepare and submit your federal and state tax returns electronically at the same time. A personal computer with Internet access offers two options to electronically file your federal and state tax returns online.

Benefits

  • Faster processing of your return, faster refunds
  • Acknowledgment that both the IRS and Montana Department of Revenue received your return
  • Increased accuracy of information filed
  • Security and dependability of direct deposit on refunds
