Employee Directory Help
This application is provided to give the public easy access to contact information for State employees. Searches can be by name or phone number and can be limited to a single agency or Statewide.
There are several different search techniques available using the Search for Text Box. Note that for all search options, capitalization is not important. Complicated names such as those with first or last names that contain spaces are best searched for using the Lastname, Firstname option.
Use partial first or last names to find any variations
dav matches dave, david
mik matches mike, michael
and remember that nicknames may or may not not be listed, such as bill for william.Checking the Phonetic checkbox will perform a phonetic search as well as a regular search. This will usually result in more entries and is more likely to find a misspelled name.
If you are having trouble, use as little of the name as you are sure of, even just a couple of letters.
| Lastname only | Can be a full or partial name. Search will assume last name
starts with these characters. example:
smith would return all employess with a last name
starting with smith such as John Smith or Jane Smithy Note: To search for a last name with a space in it, make sure there is a comma at the end of the last name example: van hook, would return all employess with a last name starting with van hook rather than interpreting it as a first and last name. |
| Lastname, Firstname | Lastname comma Firstname Both can be partial names. Search will assume that the names start with the specified characters. example: Smith, j would return names such as John Smith and Jane Smith. |
| Firstname Lastname | Firstname Lastname Both can be partial names. Search will assume that the names start with the specified characters. example: j smith would return names such as John Smith and Jane Smith. |
| Firstname only | comma Firstname This is a variation of Lastname, Firstname but without a Lastname. example: , john would return all employees with a first name that starts with john such as John Smith or Johnny Smith. |
| Phone | phone number with a minimum of 4 digits. example: 444-1234 or 1234 Search will be for these digits anywhere with the phone number, not just at the start or end. |
'Within' Options
By default a search is made against the complete statewide database. You can choose to narrow the search to a particular Agency by selecting it from the dropdown box. This selection will be remembered between searches within this session.
Search Results
If your search criteria returns a single entry, you will go directly to the details for that person. If there are more than one possible name for your search, a list of matching names will be displayed and you can select the desired one by clicking on the name. Details for an employee may vary. Some may not have a listed phone, some may not have a listed e-mail address. This is a normal function of the application and database.
E-Mail Message
If the details for a person contain e-mail information a form will be shown that will enable you to send them a message. Your E-Mail: and Your Name: are required if you want to enable a reply. A minimum of a subject or message is required for the message to be sent. There is a limit on how many messages can be sent within a certain timeframe to prevent abuse of the system.
If you are unable to find the person you are searching for, you can contact the Capitol Operator at 444-2511 (TDD 444-1421)
