A PETE-V STRATEGY FOR ACTION

Prevention

Goal/Vision: To create a community environment where Meth is not used and aggressive measures are taken by all parties to impede the manufacture, sale and use of meth.

Education

Goal/Vision: To create a community environment where all members of the community (adults, teens, youth) are knowledgeable regarding meth, its manufacture, distribution, sale and use.

Treatment:

Goal/Vision: To create a community environment where the continuum of treatment options are available, affordable and provided by both public and private providers.

Enforcement

Goal/Vision: To create a community environment where the enforcement of meth laws and ordinances is supported by all members of the community: that penalties for the violation of these laws and ordinances is consistent and metered so that the penalty matches the crime; that the responsible level of government is responsible for incarceration and that the level of supervision is appropriate to the crime committed.

Victims

Goal/Vision: To identify the victims of meth use and provide the support and community programming and community programming needed to meet their unique needs. These victims include users, the families of users and the communities in which meth is used.
