Martz Names New Budget Director

Today Governor-Elect Judy Martz named the first member of her new administration as she appointed Senator Chuck Swysgood as her Budget Director.

"Karl Ohs and I are pleased that Chuck has agreed to accept this important position," Martz said. "With the legislative session fast approaching, Chuck will be able to hit the ground running with the state's budget. He's extremely familiar with our appropriation process, and he's comfortable with the needs of department budgets."

Swysgood, who has lived in Dillon for the past 20 years, served in the Montana House of Representatives for three terms and in the Montana Senate for two terms. For the past two legislative sessions, he chaired the crucial Senate Finance and Claims Committee. He currently works as Sales and Service Manager for Dillon Implement.

"During the next six weeks, Chuck will be working closely with us to look through the proposed budget," Martz added. "We will be spending time fine-tuning certain areas to reflect the philosophy of our new administration."
