Governor Martz Selects New Administration DirectorFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Helena) - Governor Judy Martz today named Scott Darkenwald to serve as the state's new Director for the Department of Administration. "Scott is a very talented individual who brings a strong private industry background to the cabinet," Governor Martz said. "I know he will continue to improve the level of service provided by our Department of Administration." Darkenwald, 48, will replace Barbara Ranf, who is now Governor Martz's Chief of Staff. "I look forward to the opportunity to return to Montana and to serve the state in this capacity," said Darkenwald, a Montana native. "This is a great opportunity to join this administration as we work to meet the needs of Montana's citizens." Most recently Director of Retail Development for Cutter & Buck, Darkenwald created and established their retail 'company-owned' store division for the publicly traded apparel manufacturer. He was also general manager for Cenex Petroleum, Inc., a subsidiary company of Cenex, which consisted of 'company owned' convenience stores and truck stops. He has also been a small business owner in Montana. "Scott's management experience extends through both small and large businesses," said Governor Martz. "This background adds to his diverse portfolio, and will help him to manage programs to ensure that the benefit to our citizens and businesses is maximized." Originally from Billings, Darkenwald graduated from Billings West High School and attended Montana State University. He is married to Annette and has two children, Gentry and Kelsey. Darkenwald's salary will be $80,704. He will join the administration in late December. -###- |
