Governor's Report on Terrorist Situation 9/11--7:45 p.m.FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE --Most of the key personnel represented at the NEMA conference in Big Sky have been returned to their states via military aircraft. The remaining 150 or so will be flying commercial tomorrow (9/12) if allowed. -- A web site will be set up this evening to provide contact numbers and other information at DiscoveringMontana.com -- For those who desire to help, the ideal donations are monetary donations or donations of services. Please contact your local Volunteer Organizations for contributions of money. FEMA can be contacted at (202) 646-2452 for donations of services. --Montana schools will remain open and conduct classes as normal. --State employees will conduct business as usual (with continued heightened security) and those employees who were sent home as a precautionary measure should report to work at 12:00 on 9/12. --The State Disaster and Emergency Services Office will be operational 24 hours/day until further notice. --The nation remains in a Threatcon Delta - the highest level of alert The next briefing will occur at the National Guard Armory in Helena at 8:30 a.m. on 9/12. # # # |
