Governor Martz Announces Staff Changes

HELENA - Governor Judy Martz today announced that Kris Goss, her education policy advisor and deputy communications director, is departing her staff on July 21 to begin law school. Governor Martz also announced she has hired Loran Frazier to serve as her education policy advisor effective July 12, 2004.
"It is difficult to see Kris go. I am very proud of his work," Governor Martz said. "At the same time, however, I am very pleased to announce that longtime educator Loran Frazier will serve as my education advisor. These are very unique times in education. As we prepare for the next legislative session, I knew I had to have an experienced person to work on education issues. I’m pleased to have Loran step in and help Montana. "
Frazier, 69, earned his education degree from the University of Montana and his Masters from Western Montana College. He served 43 years in education as a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, vocational guidance supervisor, and administrator. He also served 12 years as the executive director for the School Administrators of Montana.
Goss, 24, a Sidney, Montana native, is a 2002 graduate of Carroll College. He has served in the Office of the Governor since 2000 as an intern, executive assistant, education policy advisor, and deputy communications director. He will be starting this August at the University of Montana School of Law.
Chuck Butler, Martz's Communications Director, will be working with the network of public information officers throughout state government to ensure Goss's duties as the deputy communications director are met in the final months of the administration.
