Governor Martz Reacts to Federal Wolf Decision

HELENA - Governor Judy Martz today issued the following statement in
reaction to United States Fish and Wildlife Service decision to approve
Montana's wolf management plan:

"I'm pleased the United States Fish and Wildlife Service approved
Montana's
wolf management plan. It is a true testament to our Wolf Advisory
Council,
the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks, the state
legislature and
all those that participated in the creation of the plan."

" I was also encouraged to find out that Idaho's plan was also approved
but
unfortunately Wyoming's plan was not approved."

"All three states are committed to moving forward with appropriate
management of the gray wolf. We'll work with Wyoming and assist them
in
gaining approval for their plan so the three states can move forward to
better deal with issues related to wolf reintroduction."
