Governor Martz Appoints New Director of Revenue

Acting Director of the Montana Department of Revenue. Hoffman then
promoted Randy Wilke to serve as the Acting Deputy Director for the Department.
"I am very pleased that Don and Randy are willing to lead the
department for the remainder of my administration," Governor Martz stated. "We have important work that needs to be done. We will be preparing to implement the tax reform we authorized last session, completing the transition to a new computer system, and working to ensure the Department is ready for the next administration."
Don Hoffman, the Administrator of the Revenue Department's Business and
Income Taxes Division, has accepted the temporary promotion to the
position of acting department director. A 1974 graduate of University of
Montana, Hoffman has held various positions with the department for the past 29 years.
"Earlier today, I visited the Department and spoke with the staff to
thank them for their hard work on behalf of the people of Montana," Governor Martz stated. "I wanted them to know that during this period of leadership transition they have the full support of my office."
Randy Wilke, the Administrator of the Revenue Department's Property
Assessment Division, has accepted the temporary promotion to serve as
the Department's Acting Deputy Director. Wilke graduated from Montana State
University in 1972 and has worked in the Department for 31 years.
"Don and Randy are goal setters and leaders that will work well
together to ensure that the Department continues the high level of quality service that Montanans deserve," Governor Martz said. "These two dedicated state employees bring a tremendous amount of experience and talent to this
important state agency."
Both of these appointments are effective immediately March 11, 2004.
