Building Codes Bureau
The Building Standards Bureau, in accordance with Title 50, Chapter 60, and Title 50, Chapter 74, MCA, establishes and enforces minimum building (including accessibility), plumbing, mechanical, electrical, energy, elevator, and boiler codes.
Codes are adopted and amended through
Title 24, Chapter 301 of the
Administrative Rules of Montana.
This enforcement safeguards the public, employees, and property from the hazards inherent in the construction of buildings, including their structural, nonstructural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and boiler components, and factory-built buildings manufactured or offered for sale in Montana.
